So far one of my favorite rings. This one has a beautiful minimalism.
The large ritualized Quartz crystal is held in tension across the middle. Bit of a gamble on the design, all through making it I wasn’t sure it would work, but it did. the stone just squeezes in between the prongs. i roughed the middle slightly using a diamond burr to get ensure a good grip.
The stone has little square flakes of iron pyrite crystal embedded inside giving it a three dimensional feel.
The ring shape with the wounded square corners started out as a square section ring which i filed down on the outside, makes a lovely curved shape.
the ring had to be downsized twice to get it to fit Jule’s finger. perhaps one learning is to use a wide ring band with such a big stone to stop it wobbling around.
