But they are slow&#8230; Timelapse speeds up slow things and makes them more interesting to watch&#8230; so, why not record time-lapses of some prints&#8230; This was the idea that lead me on a long journey to capture the best possible 3D printing timelapses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It turns out that I&#8217;m not the first to try to do this and some great tutorials exist as well as some brilliant software called <a href=\"https:\/\/plugins.octoprint.org\/plugins\/octolapse\/\">Octolapse<\/a> which runs on <a href=\"https:\/\/octoprint.org\/\">Octoprint<\/a> which runs on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/\">Raspberry P<\/a>i. With lots of trial and error, several more errors and some script hacking I eventually managed to get it all working using an old Canon DLSR camera.
