Went on a mission to remember all the books I’ve read and find the covers I remember from reading them. Partly as a reminder of all the great, mind-expanding books and partly because I think my brain is wired visually, I can often remember the cover but not the story.
Over the years, I’ve kept adding to the folder full of cover images as I read more and remembered ones I’d read in the past. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then recently I realised the collection had some duplicates because the pictures weren’t named by author or title (just whatever random filename they had when downloaded), so it’s hard to find if I had one already.
Pontificating about the best way to rename all 300+ files to author + title, I wondered if this was a job for the new-fangled AI LLM’s that are all the rage.
Asked Claude to write a program to look at the images and rename the files. It wrote a nifty little web interface, hosted it locally, downloaded and installed an LLM via Ollama, ran the program and Vola! All 300+ files were renamed. A little checking, and I found one or two where the title was so obscured by the cover art that the AI couldn’t work it out. Now I am easily able to find the duplicates because they have the same name.
